Handraise

Privacy policy

How Handraise handles your information, where it stays, and which services it contacts on your behalf.

Last updated 4 November 2026

01

The short version

Handraise runs on your own computer or your own server. We, the makers, do not receive, store or see anything you put into it. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

02

Who we are

Handraise is made by Richard Booth, trading as CompoID, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Questions about privacy: admin@compo-app.com.

03

Where your data lives

Handraise for Mac and Windows keeps everything on your computer: what you promote, the threads it finds, the drafts, your results and settings. If you run Handraise on a server of your own, it lives on that server instead. The iPhone and Android apps show what is on your computer or server; they keep only the pairing key that lets them connect, in the phone's secure storage.

The demo in the phone apps uses made-up sample data that stays on the phone.

04

Keys and passwords

The keys you add (for example your Anthropic key, App Store Connect or Google Play keys, and email settings) are kept in your computer's own secure storage: the Keychain on a Mac, the Credential Locker on Windows. They are only used to make the requests described below, from your computer.

05

Services Handraise talks to

Handraise connects directly from your computer or server to these services, on your behalf, using your own keys or no key at all. Nothing passes through us.

  • Anthropic (Claude): the text of public posts you add or that Handraise finds, and the details you enter about what you promote, are sent to Claude to score threads, draft replies, suggest phrases and write posts and listings. This uses your own Anthropic key and is covered by Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy.
  • Public feeds: Hacker News, Bluesky, Stack Exchange and Mastodon are read for public posts that match your phrases.
  • Apple and Google: Apple's public App Store search and reviews are read to check where your app ranks. If you add App Store Connect or Google Play keys, your own sales and install reports are read from them.
  • Email: if you set up the daily email, it is sent through the mail server you choose.

Handraise never posts, comments or votes anywhere. You copy each reply and post it yourself.

06

AI agents

If you connect an AI agent (such as Claude Code) to Handraise, that agent can read and change your Handraise data through the same key your phones use. Only connect agents you trust.

07

Children

Handraise is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.

08

Deleting your data

Delete what you promote in Settings, or uninstall Handraise and delete its folder on your computer. Unpairing your phones in Settings stops them connecting. Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete.

09

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. For questions, contact admin@compo-app.com.
